I blotted to honor the Einherjar this past week. I had trouble finding the appropriate statues to put on my altar (wanted to put on both my Odin and my Freya), but I finally settled for my Valkyrie statue. It seemed appropriate somehow. I'm not and never will be numbered among those who have served in that way, but I know what it means to welcome someone home and give them honor.
In other news...

The Kensington Runestone has headed to Sweden. Other countries share with us their priceless works of art. We share with them our forgeries. Seems rather symbolic somehow.
It's gotten incredibly cold outside. Cold and windy. I live on a strip of land that sticks thirty miles out into the ocean and it's days like these you feel every one of those miles. The spousal unit and myself took a drive out to the bay and watched the whitecaps. Brrr.
I still have stuff I want to get done for fall. Plant my bulbs for next year. Rake leaves. Blot the wights of the yard after the bulbs are planted and the leaves raked. Make mead.
